Myrtle & Bear was born out of a celebration of mother-daughter relationships in all their beautiful forms. From biological mothers and daughters to fur mums, stepmums, surrogate mums, and grandmothers, we’re here to honor these special bonds that shape us and bring so much love into the world.
Who Is Myrtle & Bear?
Myrtle, also known as Sarah-Jane, is the founder & the creative of Myrtle & Bear. Her nickname, “Myrtle,” was lovingly given to her as a child by her mum, and it’s stuck with her ever since.
Bear, also known as Jayne, is Sarah-Jane’s mum. The name “Bear” came from Myrtle’s early days of calling her “Mumma Bear,” which naturally shortened to just “Bear” over time. Today, the whole family calls her Bear, and it’s a name that perfectly captures her warmth and strength.
Together, Myrtle & Bear represent the heart of what we do: honoring relationships, cherishing the moments we share, and creating meaningful, handmade pieces inspired by love.
